Commercial Managers

We are seeking two experienced Commercial Officers to support major Defence programs.

These roles offer the opportunity to contribute to nationally significant acquisition and sustainment activities while working with high?performing project teams.

Role 1: Commercial Officer (Skill Level 3)

• Expected Commencement Date: ASAP
• Duration: 19-months
• Hours: Full-time
• Location: Canberra – No option for remote work
• Minimum Security Clearance: NV1

This position provides commercial and contract management support across a portfolio of SPO contracts. The role is suited to candidates with strong contract administration experience and the ability to manage complex commercial workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop contract variations and ad?hoc service requests (e.g., Survey & Quote)
• Conduct supporting analysis including liability risk assessments and GFM updates
• Review deliverables and support performance management frameworks
• Undertake contract administration: minutes, baselining, correspondence, invoice checks, COI/NDAs
• Provide commercial advice across recurring and non?recurring services
• Apply ANAO audit recommendations to contract management practices

Role 2: Commercial Officer (Skill Level 2)

• Expected Commencement Date: ASAP
• Duration: 6-months
• Hours: Full-time
• Location: Canberra – No option for remote work
• Minimum Security Clearance: NV1

This role supports various branches by delivering commercial support across both sustainment and acquisition activities. Ideal for candidates with procurement experience and strong stakeholder engagement skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide commercial support for procurement activities
• Respond to commercial enquiries and offer procurement advice
• Assist with approaches to market and tender evaluations
• Support contract development and ensure compliance with procurement frameworks
• Liaise with Defence and industry stakeholders

Desirable:

• ACAT 1 experience
• Experience supporting ADF commercial initiatives
• Familiarity with space or technically complex procurement environments

What We’re Looking For:

• Demonstrated commercial, procurement, or contract management experience
• Strong understanding of Commonwealth Procurement Rules
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• NV1 Security Clearance (mandatory)
